Program Description

West County Child and Adolescent Services (WCCAS) is a Children and Adolescent outpatient mental health clinic located in San Pablo. We serve children and youth between the ages of 5 and 19 and their families with the entire West Contra Costa County region. WCCAS works with a population rich in diversity including racial, ethnic, gender and sexual orientation. We greatly value diversity in our own workforce as well as in our practices and training.

Clinical services include conducting bio-psychosocial-developmental clinical assessments including DSM-5 diagnoses, individual, family and group therapy, crisis intervention, psychiatric support/medication management, school and community outreach, consultation, and case management services. WCCAS works from a strength-based, culturally and trauma informed, team-oriented perspective. Clinical services include Wraparound services, including family partners and mentors and other family and parent support services that serve the youth within the context of family and community. Services are primarily offered within the clinic and school setting, but may also include some home-based service provision, if appropriate. Training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), play therapy, family, and other trauma informed approaches such as Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), developmental, dyadic, and group therapy are available, depending on interest.

Bilingual and culturally diverse trainees/interns are especially encouraged to apply.
