Flu viruses are unpredictable and can change over time, so a past flu vaccine may not protect you this year. We recommend that everyone 6 months and older get a flu vaccine each year. It’s best to get your annual flu shot early in the fall before influenza season peaks.

Where to Get Vaccinated

  • CCH Immunization Clinics: Book an appointment online. Fees may apply.
  • County Health Centers: Walk-in flu vaccine clinics are held at our health centers annually in October. No appointment needed! These clinics are for Contra Costa Regional Medical Center & Health Centers patients.
  • Local pharmacies: Find a convenient pharmacy location near you on vaccines.gov. People ages 19+ with Medi-Cal can search the Med-Cal Rx website.
  • Your regular healthcare provider: Providers such as Kaiser, Sutter Health and John Muir offer their patients flu vaccine. Check with your provider about how to get your flu shot.
