Persons who prefer to speak in English or a language other than English or who are deaf or hard of hearing enjoy equal access to all services of Contra Costa Health.

Medical interpretation is available to all patients of Contra Costa Health who prefer a language other than English. This service is available 24 hours per day and 7 days per week at no cost to the patient.

All of our medical interpreters are specially trained to assist patients and health care providers to communicate with each other in the preferred language during the provision of care, when making medical appointments, receiving health care information or when discussing billing or health related financial information.

The health professional will connect with an interpreter during clinic visits or during a hospital stay every time they communicate with the patient or client that prefers a language other than English. Contra Costa Health does not rely on family members or friends to provide these services for the patient or client.

Documents used by Contra Costa Health are available in English, Spanish and other languages as requested. The translation is provided at no cost to the patient or client.
