The Comprehensive Perinatal Services Program (CPSP) is a Medi-Cal program that provides many services for low-income pregnant and parenting women. The CPSP model is seen as improving birth outcomes when routine prenatal and postpartum care is combined with nutrition, health education, and mental health services.

CPSP Goals

  • Lower the number of babies born too small
  • Make sure every pregnancy has a positive outcome
  • Give every baby a healthy start in life
  • Eliminate health disparities among racial/ethnic, gender, economic, and religious groups
