Communicable Disease Program

The Communicable Disease Program prevents the spread of contagious diseases in Contra Costa County by:

• Interviewing people and identifying who else might get sick
• Providing case management services to those who are sick
• Educating health providers, community partners and the public
• Collecting data on diseases

Physicians reporting suspected communicable disease emergencies in Contra Costa Health should immediately call 925-313-6740 during business hours, or request the on-call health officer after hours by phoning sheriff's dispatch at 925-646-2441.
