Quality Improvement and Health Equity Committee
As part of the major transformation of the Medi-Cal delivery system, California Advancing and Innovating Medi-Cal (CalAIM), health equity and quality is the overarching guide to all services facilitated for Medi-Cal members to ensure they have a happy and healthy life. Contra Costa Health Plan's Health Equity Office initiated the establishment of Quality Improvement and Health Equity Commitee (QIHEC) in January 2024
Purpose
- Oversight and collaboration with CCHP's Quality Improvement and Health Equity Transformation Program
- Report to the Joint Conference Committee the governing board for CCHP all activities to include the Annual Plan, Progress Report, Audits and Finding and status of Equity accreditation through the National Committee on Quality Assurance (NCQA)
- CCHP's Chief Equity Officer and assigned Medical Director will take the lead in connecting the Committee to the health plan's operations and plays a key role in accountability and reporting to the Chief Executive Officer.
Responsibilities
- Review and provide feedback to the Annual Plan for Quality Improvement & Health Equity program.
- Review all Quality & Equity member surveys and QIPs.
- Perform an analysis of the results of Performance Measures, Utilization Data to include member Appeals and Grievances that are connected to Health and Equity.
- Execute follow-up actions for any performance deficiencies or audit findings related to Health and Equity
