Systems of care is a term that commonly refers to healthcare delivery that involves multiple organizations.

The EMS system in Contra Costa County recognizes four specialty systems of EMS care:

• STEMI (ST-elevation myocardial infarction)
• cardiac arrest
• stroke
• trauma
