Thank you for considering the placement of an AED. Your proactive approach to preparing for cardiac arrest events can make a life-or-death difference. By having an AED readily accessible, you can significantly increase the chances of survival for those experiencing sudden cardiac arrest.

In fact, communities with programs ensuring widespread CPR training and AED placement have improved survival rates from cardiac arrest by up to 60%.

Register Your AED

State law requires that local EMS agencies be notified when an AED is placed in a location. If you are placing a new AED, you can register it conveniently online:

  1. Check this map to see whether your AED is already registered.
  2. If you cannot find your AED on the map, register your AED.
    Register your AED
  3. Update your registration information, as needed, using your National AED Registry account.

If you need help with the registration process, see these step-by-step registration instructions.

Report Using Your AED

You must report to your local EMS agency within 24 hours of using your AED. Fill out this form and return it to Contra Costa Health EMS at ems.event@cchealth.org.
